Staff Openings - History Department
When Scouts and Venturers arrive at the Charles L. Sommers Wilderness Canoe Base they are transported back to the era of the Voyageur. North America's Canoe Country is rich with Voyageur history and it is the job of the History Department to promote history. The History Department also coordinates the nightly Rendevous. History Staff should have a love for history and acting or musical ability.
History Director - Responsible for nightly rendezvous program, Hedrick library, and the living history program. Works closely with the Base Program Director and the Chief Interpreter to coordinate the history program on base. Supervises the History Staff and coordinates the day to day operation of the History Department. To hold this position you must be at least 21 years of age, hold a current drivers license with a clean driving record, and have previous Northern Tier experience.
History Staff - Responsible for participating in the nightly rendezvous program, Hedrick library, and the living history program. Must be 18 years of age, have the ability to pass the BSA Swim test, and First Aid (preferably Wilderness First Aid) and CPR.
